Mexican wrestling: Sports watershed

Wrestling is a type of unarmed combat that's been practiced since the beginning of human kind. The first evidence of this sport's existence in Egypt is dated on 2300 BC when some art imprinting ferocious combats was created.

Meanwhile, Mexican wrestling is a separated category, in a way that when they talk about this sport in USA, they call it "lucha libre" and in Mexico is not only a sport: it's a theatrical activity that involves the eternal fight of the good against evil embodied by masked beings that perform acrobatics both on the canvas and in the air.

Wrestling was brought to Mexico by Giovanni Relesevitch in 1910 and it was until 1933 when the first Mexican company was founded: the today named as Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. On the early 90's, the Triple A was founded and, besides these two companies, exist the International Wrestling Revolution Group and Alianza Universal de Lucha Libre.

It was during the 40's and 70's decades when the audience was over wrestling because, besides the night broadcasts on TV, they had movies starred by El Santo and other movie stars. Getting fed up of the same, spectators got away from wrestling until Triple A appeared and capitalized the show-sport with new characters.

Wrestling evolution goes hand in hand with Mexican wrestling, since this one was a groundbreaker that set the basis of the modern show-sport. Logically, the activity will make its path and, of course, there will be the Mexican wrestlers to make their own.
