Cyber Monday: rebates at your fingertips

Given that Black Friday is a working day in US, many people (specially office clerks) can´t afford to go shopping at the malls, so they buy their presents online instead. Once they realized this, online stores created a special day for them.

Cyber Monday is how the Monday right after the Black Friday is called. That day, online stores offer the same kind of bargains as their physical counterparts.

Technology (gadgets, videogames, screens, Blu-Ray players, stereos, computers, home theaters and such) usually offers the best bargains since, netizens are more informed in that matter and like to browse for their product electronically themselves.

The first Cyber Monday took place in 2006 and, according to ComScore, online sales increased a 25% compared to the same day (when this promotion was not instituted) on 2005.

With several forms of payment like digital bank and third parties financial services (PayPal) available, online shopping during the holidays is the best you can do.

Black Friday: he day with the best promotions of the year

Either on a film or on TV we have seen images of Americans camping at the gates of a store to be the first ones shopping during the rebates season. The first day of the mentioned season is known as Black Friday.

Since 2004, the Black Friday has been the day with the most shoppers at both department and specialty stores as it marks the beginning of the rebates season.

Black Friday is a good day to buy videogames as that day exists 2x1 or 3x2 rebates on selected titles. Despite many could think, many of the selected titles are current ones.

Black Friday has, like anything else, two faces: the good one and the bad one. The good one is related to the rebates while the bad one has to do with the psychosis that day generates when people, eager to buy, causes accidents, like the Wal-Mart employee trampled to death in New York.

Countries with a similar culture to American, like Canada, have adopted a Black Friday identical model, in order to keep their customers, given their closeness to US, Canadians used to the stars and stripes country. It´s unlikely that in Mexico, for example, a day like that to be organized.
