The most played genres online

Online game is fundamental on the current console generation, Microsoft measures the online activity of Xbox 360 titles daily and publishes a weekly report so the users can see what had the most activity, for either reason: encourage them to make the jump or dust off their old games if they become a trend again.

From the most played online 20 titles of Xbox 360 the week of September 20, eight were first person shooters: three from the Halo franchise, three from Call Of Duty, one from Battlefield and one from Left for Dead.

While it is true that the Gears Of War franchise has a more intricate history than most first person shooters, it still belongs to the genre where the least important is the history itself: the important here is to shot everything that moves and, accordingly, this title has several online modes.

Historically, Electronic Arts has developed an annual game of every one of its sport franchises and 2010 was no exception. The most important deliveries were FIFA 2011 and Madden NFL 11.

In November, one of the most expected action games will launch: Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and, one of their strong points is, precisely, the online mode. It will be an interesting experiment since it is very rare that this kind for titles (focused most in the history than in the game system) to feature internet matches.

Puedo que el juego en línea es parte fundamental de la actual generación de consolas, Microsoft mide diariamente la actividad online de los títulos para Xbox 360 y semanalmente publica un reporte para que los usuarios vean qué fue lo más activo para una de dos: animarse a dar el salto o desempolvar sus juegos antiguos si es que están de moda de nuevo.

De los 20 títulos para Xbox 360 más jugados en línea en la semana del 20 de septiembre, ocho fueron shooters en primera persona: tres son de la franquicia Halo, tres de Call of Duty, uno de Battlefield y uno de Left 4 Dead.

Si bien es cierto que la franquicia Gears of War tiene una historia más intrincada que muchos shooters en primera persona, no deja de pertenecer al género en el que lo de menos es la justificación: lo importante es balear a lo a que se mueva y, como tal, el juego tiene varios modos en línea.
